wacky wednesday

• i dropped off my car this morning to get some...thing...fixed. i will have $400 less in my bank account by the end of the day :(
• after work i'm going with a friend of mine to my gramma's to look at the kitties. hopefully Christa will be taking home one of the two beautiful girls or three adorable boys that aren't claimed already!
• after the kitties, kc and i are checking out another apartment. i have high hopes for this one [even though they won't have anything open until mid-October], but i'm trying to not get too excited for it...
• if we have time after the apartment viewing, kc and i are going to attempt to make it to kickboxing.
• Season 4 of The Office comes out September 2nd! josh and i are going to prepare for this by watching Seasons 1-3 in the meantime. and we will too, because i remembered to bring the dvd's with me today :)
• Season 5 of The Office starts September 25th! i'm so excited! i've been watching some of the random commercials [a lot of Olympic references...] on nbc.com. you can check them out here.

the bosses are traveling back from Europe today, expecting to be in late tonight. it's been an interesting experience without them - but a good one. we've been pretty busy and i've been going to meetings every other day, taking calls for deliveries and scheduling installations [not usually my job], receiving trucks and claiming damages [again, not what i normally do]. it's kind of been fun "running" the business, though i will be glad to give back all the crappy problems to the bosses. though really - things have been going REALLY well. we received crazy amounts of furniture to Gannon and it went without a hitch...installations have occurred almost flawlessly...and co-worker bethany and i have had fun going to lunch and leaving early to go to meetings...and going to breakfast...

and be thinking of / praying for our friends Stace & Shane who got married last year and live in VA. we are praying they get jobs in Erie and can move back home to be closer to their SKANK's! [oh, and their family...]

today's the day!!!

well folks - today is the day! the launch of the new iPhone!! the past few weeks i've been discussing the phone's features with others and reading up on the "reviews"...and i've been leaning towards waiting until September to get the iPhone [when my Verizon contract is up]....however after talking about it w/ my skank's yesterday, i'm reaching the point of really really REALLY not wanting to wait anymore. i hope to pick it up sometime today or tomorrow [i wonder if Erie will "sell out" on the first day...]

yesterday i stopped by Betty's Cookie Korrell in the Village West Plaza in Millcreek [it's about a 2 1/2 minute walk from my office...but i stopped by as in drove...]. they have some awesome cakes and cookies there. i bought a bunch and brought them back for my sweet-tooth-ed "coworkers".

also, the awesome boys of iNSPiRAL played at Sherlock's last night. it was an odd show for kt and i [people showing up we didn't expect...just...odd things, not the ushe...] but it was good. good turn out and they rocked it hard as always!!! kt made some pretty awesome new "business cards" for the boyz. i want to post them, but she could do that i'm sure...or maybe i'll get a pic later.

anyway...having a rockin weekend!

• on the road - with kt, drive to grove city, get stuck in traffic for 45 minutes, watch "love actually" on her ipod
• grove city - slushies and smoothies from sheetz, chex turtle mix, beatles double-sided white album puzzle
• station square - parking ramp, makeup, hard rock cafe, lots of appetizers, drinks, awesome iNSPiRAL, jason deutsch, expensive check, photo shoot, fountain, silly boys
• ride home - way too late, sleep, running out of gas [we didn't actually, Timm just thought we were going to], wake up, slippery rock exit, no gas station, grove city, gas station!, more sleep, home at 230am

titles are always hard for me to come up with. especially on a post like this, that has no real theme...
also, sorry i've not been commenting, reading...or even posting [anything very interesting] as much lately...things just seem REALLY busy...June has been one insane month...one shower, party or event after the other!!



my parents started digging into the "attic" [crawl space] the other day. i came up to my room tonight to find this:

they've dug out a bunch of my old stuffed animals and want me to search through them...i'm sure it will be an enjoyable experience when it happens, but i'd rather not do so right now. i have enough digging through to do in my room under all my piles of clean clothes that i've yet to put away [it's truly getting ridiculous].


Friday night i spent with my sister & hubby [they came to see the show], kt, kc & iNSPiRAL. they pretty much rocked [and by they i mean iNSPiRAL, of course, but also sissy, bri bri, kt & kc]. Saturday kc & i went to kickboxing, then i had a bridal shower, then josh & i drove to Pittsburgh for another iNSPiRAL show. check over at their blog for more on the shows.

i guess that's all i have to say. i'm craving some cupcakes. it's been...2 weeks! since the last batch...withdrawal....blahhhhh

kc and i have gone into mad-lets-find-an-apartment-mode in viewing 2 houses yesterday [myself w/ my mum] and 3 apts in a complex on wednesday. tonight we're looking at another house that is ridiculously out of our price range...buuuut i want to see WHY it is so great, and maybe see if kc can get the guy to lower his price? or maybe i heard him wrong?

i'm excited to move out. it isn't that i don't like my parents. it isn't even that i don't like living with my parents. i do, they're great, they don't really charge me much [but i give them money and buy things for the house...and buy them dinner sometimes, i think it's a fairly even...ish...trade-off]...but i'm just desparate to get out on my own [with kristen]. i want my own place, i want my own kitchen...living room...driveway [or parking space]. i want to be at a more convienient location in erie for all the places i go...anyway...i'm excited...i feel like we're getting serious now! but i'm also getting seriously SICK of looking, and we've not spent much time looking nor have we looked at many places...ugh, makes me dread looking for a house [whenever THAT happens].

anyway! tonight is a graduation party & iNSPiRAL show @ the Beer Mug in Erie, tomorrow is a bridal shower & trip to pittsburgh till Sunday! yippppeeeeeeeeeeee! ugh, i'm TOTES glad it's Friday!!!

[what, celebrate their house?? that doesn't make sense...] anyway, Stace is coming up from VA & kt will be there as well! this is the first time all 5 SKANK's have been together since...wait...Christmas?! is that right??? yay! we're totes excited! plus father's day this weekend...so fun family celebrations on Sunday!

here's some better [bigger] pics of the cuppies...

about a minute after i took them out of the oven, i shoved in pieces of a hershey chocolate bar [i used the small ones] so that was my somewhat "melted" center.

the frosting turned out good, i think, not too marshmallowy.

the graham cracker crust was a little thick...i think that caused some dryness in the cuppies, or because i cooked them a little longer than necessary [cause they weren't as thick! which also resulted in a final total of 35 cuppies instead of the normal 24].

other things going on...

• got some new luggage for Neocon: an organizer thingie and a 4-wheel carry-on suitcase
• getting my hair cut & colored next week! yipppeeee!

• sunset last night was AMAZING

• i signed up to be on a softball team with some friends of mine. so far they have had about 4 or 5 games/practices and i haven't been able to attend one. tomorrow is a tournament [first game at 8 AM!!!!!!! ughgh], but i am able to go! i'm pretty excited, plus the shirts look pretty cool!
• i can't use AutoCAD or my other software right now because my main furniture system i use is empty and has "no items"...as in i have no symbols or spec info...so i'm kind of feeling useless right now

weekend surprises!

my first weekend surprise came Friday afternoon when i found out that the powerpoint i had done for Saturday night service at our church was the WRONG SONGS. that kind of sucked. luckily, it was easy enough to copy and paste the right songs/lyrics into the slides and use the same formatting and pictures as before.

my second weekend surprise came Friday night at about 11:00pm when one of my best friend's [kt] called me to tell me she got ENGAGED!!! [check out her blog for a few more pics and later on, the full story!]. below is her ring and the happy couple the day after the event.

kristen, kt and i celebrated with dinner/appetizers at Plymouth, then champagne and the third "surprise" [if one can call it a surprise]. iNSPiRAL's practice space [aka, Dustin's garage] was turned into a mini show for us! Couches, coffee tables and a great view of the boys. we got to hear their full set and they sounded awesome!!!

maybe the fourth surprise would be the emergence of this little guy...a nasty millipede! kt somehow caught it under this cup, where we left it, and ran to watch the boys.

i guess that is it for surprises. however, i did go to Target and purchase the cupcake carrier and 13-cupcake holder that i wanted. i also did some shopping for a special someone's birthday coming up.

oh, and i got a few more of the "Greeneco" products:
