gift.

a few weeks ago i ordered a custom pendant for josh from Dragon Weave Jewelry. it is a Japanese Kanji symbol for Shadow, in loving memory of josh's beloved dog. [significance of "Kanji" symbol - we both have tattoos using these symbols - mine is on my ankle, meaning "Grace" (my middle name), he has two on his arms, and no, we didn't get any of these together :)]. well...it came in the mail yesterday! i was pretty pumped, so i told josh i kinda HAD to see him yesterday night [throwing all sorts of crazy thoughts into his mind i'm sure :)]. anyway, he somehow guessed what i had to give him was jewelry [he knows me so well!], though i of course told him it wasn't.

all in all i believe he likes it, and i'm very happy with how it came out! i got a leather rope-necklace for it to go on.

yesterday rach called me as i was on my way home saying she wanted to go out to dinner. i'm always up for a spontaneous go-out-to-eat, so i heartily agreed. we decided upon Cracker Barrel [unanimously], where we ordered the same thing and said the same things all night. i also tipped the same as her. it's funny...i forget how similar my sissy and i are sometimes :)

i'm excited for the office tonight, and i'm making cupcakes later. i have to go to a few stores after work...it's going to be a busy couple days!!!

for all you cupcake [and marcasite] lovers out there....

first, i spotted these AWESOME finds at Cracker Barrel's store today. they also had these cupcake pans with a plastic top/cover, however, they were $19.99, and i wasn't sure it was worth THAT much, but i mean, these things are awesome [picture got lost somewhere...i'll post when i find it again]. plus, check out this amazing cupcake HOLDER! oh. my. gosh.

second, i also spotted these AWESOME perfume bottles there as well. i have always wanted one of these gorgeous ornate pieces...either a perfume bottle, jewelry box or business card holder. or just anything that is of the "marcasite" nature!

after looking up "marcasite" on wikipedia [best place for reports! haha] it made me really want to go to Panama Rocks...

i guess i could just get these from target instead!

so, i mean, i guess i'm kind of obsessed with anything Celtic.
[i have a Celtic triangle around my neck, in my ear holes, tattooed on my back, as well as a Claddagh ring with triangles holding the heart instead of hands and one Celtic knot ring from Liverpool, England.]

My sissy just sent me some more lovely jewelry to browse...and drool over.

i am really fascinated with Celtic knots...though it seems their origin is either Christian...or polytheistic...from what i had been told, or read, i've always attributed the triangle to the Trinity, but some sources say there is really no meaning for any of the symbols. who knows, i just googled "Celtic knot" and that's what i came up with.
