inbetween-time post

well, all, i'm back from jasper, indiana on a plant tour of Versteel, Inc. for work - feeling exhausted but totally revved up to sell their awesome product! today is filled with putting out fires (not literal fires, of course), catching up on emails and hopefully checking lots of things off my to-do list.

i have a few posts coming - sharing about my trip, sharing about my awesome birthday celebrations and cake - but they will have to wait until later.

engagement photo teasers

my amazing sister photographed josh and i for our engagement pics on Friday. i've been house/kitty sitting at my aunt & uncle's and thought they had some great garden spots for awesome pics.

she's shown me four to keep me shut up until she's finished the rest. my sister is SO TALENTED. if only we could've cloned her so she could've done the wedding pics too...haha, just kidding. i'm so blessed to have my very good friend Danielle doing our wedding pics, and i'm SO excited for those as well!!

so, here they are, and some observations i came across while checking out the pics...

we're fun and we love each other. i mean, you probably knew that second part...



we're goofy. and it's hard for us to take serious pictures without busting out laughing. also, it's hard for us to not create our own fun poses while Rachel tells us to do something serious.



um, we're super cool. i mean, hello? look at how cool we are.



josh is amazingly photogenic and so so handsome, and i look way skinny in this pic.

second shooting

here are some pictures i took for Jeremy & Tina's wedding. Jeremy is the brother of one of my best friends (Bethany, we met at walmart 6+ years ago).

also, i bought these awesome shoes from marshall's last night...1/2 the price that i found them for online!! except they are pewter and black, not bronze and bright.

also purchased the perfect pair (i think) if peep-toe black shoes for Katie's wedding (SATURDAY!!!) plus some dresses for the many weddings, wedding rehearsals, and bridal showers i have in the next 3 months!!!

i've been staying at Rach & Bri's for the last week and a half. they get back from their Italy trip TONIGHT. i'm excited to get back to my own townhouse! :)

baby shower

two weekends ago i did my first paid photography gig! it was a baby shower for the sister-in-law of a friend of mine from church. i knew the family pretty well (but not the mother-to-be), so they insisted i eat (which i did) and enter into the chinese auction (which i did NOT). they are expecting a boy and decorated our church Commons blue and brown. also, they had cupcakes from Linda Austen Cakes, and they were AWESOME.

i was so honored to be asked to help with the shower! thanks, meg!

i just found out this amazing news today - Maleno Development has been chosen for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in ERIE, PA!! they will have one week to build a house for a worthy family starting June 25 and ending July 1. also awesome news - Grace Church is a sponsoring partner and rachel (www.puremotif.com) is doing pictures for Maleno as the project gets underway! this is so exciting and amazing!

day 1 preview

today is day 1 of Making the Cut, aka 30-day-diet, aka amy can't have any sugar and has to...wait, WORK OUT!? i'm going to try to make a point of photographing each meal, then posting it the next day. we'll see how that goes.



also check out this awesome pic Rach took of Josh & I at Presque Isle beach on Sunday night. she has a wedding there on Friday and wanted some dummies (we kept getting offended she was calling us dumb) to try out where to best take pictures. i love it! there's more pics to come.

my modeling career begins

hmmm...not really. i have a problem with laughing a lot and being goofy, especially when my sister takes my picture.

anyway, a few weeks (more like months) ago, i went with sissy and some of her fun photographer friends to do a "trash the dress" session at Waldameer. it was utterly freezing, i went over my lunch break (and was not prepared with nice makeup or hair), wore my sister's wedding dress, and posed for pictures on The Comet - Waldameer's old, rickety, crazy roller coaster (ps: i hate roller coasters).

anyway again, rach put the pictures up on her blog (finally hehe) and Heather (one of rach's photographer friends) put some up a few weeks ago.
