prizes!

first, yay friday.

and...second...

check out what came in today!!!!!!!!!

[my favorite - the magnets!!!]

thanks, gretchen!
[i've been checking the mail religiously this week for this :)]

winning things such as this make me want to host my own blog-give-away. however, i have no idea what i would be giving away. i mean, my blog is mostly about cupcakes, design, fun stationary and random things about my life. what would be a good themed thing to give away? i can't give away cupcakes...unless the winner is from erie [ok, i literally wrote "winnder" 8 times. like, seriously. 8]. what is something you wouldn't mind winning?

wait, let me clarify:
what is something that someone like me could purchase and give away that you wouldn't mind winning?

countdown!

there are less than 30 days until kc and i get the keys to our new apartment!! we still have lots to do [figure out who's going to help us move, do a coin toss for the larger room, pack, get lots...of...furniture...and other misc. things]...

yesterday we met at Value City Furniture to take a look at a few things. here's what we liked:

Monterey Sofa & Loveseat Package [but we want the sofa, oversized chair & ottoman]

Tulum Canvas 5-Piece Dinette

we both really liked both of these. on another note, i also found these cool things at See Jane Work.

totes cute sticky notes

glove compartment sized "receipt catcher"
i am really trying hard to do this "budget" thing. my first goal is to get a handle on how much money i spend on eating out and...not spend as much as i have been. i'm going on a weekly budget for this, and this is my first week doing so...and i'm doing alright so far! [thanks to kc for buying me dinner last night as part of her paying me back for the new orleans hotel!]

good 'ole Knock Knock

kt advised me to check out brooklyn bride [on more ideas to photograph cuppies] which lead me to brooklyn bride's other blog - design obsessed - where i read about some knockknock.biz new products. i LOVE knock knock. awesome stuff.

these are some of my favorite new things:

is it seriously the last week of July??

i can't even believe it. this pretty much always makes me feel that summer is over. i've been to the beach once! i haven't really taken advantage of being outside! blah...oh well.

this is what's going on in my life this month:

  • bosses leave for Germany next Wednesday for two weeks. i told him i'd stay at their house and watch the doggie. i hope they ask me to!!
  • weddings, weddings, weddings! one this friday, one next friday and one the 16th.
  • "teen-sitting" for some church friends. the woman getting married this Friday asked me to stay with her two girls Saturday & Sunday night.
  • ONE OF MY BESTEST FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY! yes thats right folks - kt @ Holy Vataha is turning the big 24 this Sunday! unfortunately i don't see a "birthday ushe" in the cards for me :( :( :( but we do plan to celebrate in some way on her actual birthday. i have an awesome idea for cuppies...can we say Mudslide Cuppies?? or maybe Trifle Cupcakes?!?!
  • volleyball! eek, i'm not ready for this. practices are supposed to start next tuesday. first game is the 22nd! first tournament the 30th.
  • church picnic
  • Pittsburgh Post-Chicago training event the 21st. don't know if i'm going to this or not...
  • singing at church!
i guess that's it...but it seems like enough...this month is going to fly by as well. we also are expecting a bunch of major projects to deliver and be installed by the end of the month.

dory bought some fun things for the office. more notebooks and some black & white folders with polka dots on the inside - in this pattern [bottom black & white pattern]:

another totes awesome find

at walmart on Saturday i found the CUTEST sticky notes, notepads, etc. [there were even matching pens!] anyway, they are designed by Jackie McFee, and i love them. i bought the "simply chic" collection, which has the 1/2" sticky tabs in the pink, green, yellow polka dot and black & white flowery pattern shown below. i also bought matching MAGNETS.

and they work with Carolina Pad and Paper, also totally awesome site! i find it's only appropriate that i work in an office furnishings dealership, seeing as i am obsessed with all things officey. now if i could only move out and do some crazy organization and fun decorations in my own PLACE! check out Carolina Pad and Paper's site for a survey to win their products!!!

[i just realized i actually have this notebook! the polka dot one in the bottom left corner!
ok, it's cool to me!!]

"i'm going a million miles an hour."

ahh, my boss's favorite thing to say! very true though...
we have a bunch of things going on right now on the "front" end [as in lots to do for myself, our other designer and my boss]. lots of bids, quotes, designs, clients...ahhh so much.

i thought i'd just leave you with a few things today:

i'm placing an order today for 3 workstations for a company in Erie. i'm really excited about these stations because we are going to be doing some things we haven't really done before in Erie. Below is a drawing and a picture of the look we are going for:

basically, we're doing some awesome add-up glass panels, silver/metal trim, and some awesome panel fabrics. i'm really excited to see this one to completion. i'll post pics of it when it's done [stay tuned...it's going to be at least 4-5 weeks].

Second, i've been researching outdoor furniture for a project for a college and i came across this awesome piece from EmuAmericas. i'm going to get one of these...put it right next to my gorgeous in-ground pool.

a few months ago i posted on my other blog about some pens i had fallen in love with. yeah, that's right, in love with pens. if you try these pens, you will see why. anyway, the pen is a Uni-Ball Signo pen, Micro 207, .5mm pen.
it is seriously awesome, and comes in several different colors! however, my boss's wife recently purchased some NEW and DIFFERENT Signo pens that i've been enjoying. this new one is called the Signo Gelstick and is thicker than the Micro's, but still writes awesome. i tell you, one's work day can be a lot more enjoyable when you have a pen you fancy writing with :).

also, i got my hair chopped yesterday. ok, that's not 100% true, but i did get 2 inches off, and got my eyebrows donnnnne! yayayay! i'd post pics but seeing as i have no friends, i'd have to take a picture of myself, and seeing as i suck at doing that....um...it's not going to happen.
